Overview
An eight-week in-person course where young homeschoolers go from simple scribbles to confident creations, gaining artistic skills, creativity, and a collection of masterpieces to be proud of!

Week 1: Line - Let's Make our Mark
Students will explore different types of lines and how they create movement in art. They will view works by Wassily Kandinsky and learn about him as an artist.
Week 2: Finding Shapes Everywhere
Students will recognize and use shapes to create art. They will discover the works of Henri Matisse and his use of organic shapes.
Week 3: Color - The Magic of Mixing
Students will learn about primary color and how they mix to form new color. They will also learn about Piet Mondrian and his unique style.
Week 4: Texture - How Does it Feel?
Students will explore textures and how they are represented in art by viewing the works of Vincent Van Gogh.
Week 5: Value - Light and Dark Fun
Students will explore how colors change in light in dark through the works of Georgia O'Keeffe.
Week 6: Space Big and Small Art
Students will learn how size and placement create depth in artwork. They will view artwork by Claude Monet and see how space played a huge part in his work.
Week 7: Form 3D Art Adventures
Students will explore how art can be three-dimensional through the works of Alexander Calder.
Week 8: Review & Celebrate
Students will learn about the works of Yayoi Kusuma and create a group masterpiece in her style. Students will celebrate their works with a Mini Masters art show.
